History

Daniel DeMarco & Associates was established in 1989 by Daniel DeMarco—along with colleague and current employee Frank Mauro—with the goal of providing quality service within the architectural millwork industry and creating an environment in which employees felt valued and able to perform at the highest level. The company established its first factory in Deer Park, NY and quickly became a top provider of high-end residential cabinetry on Long Island’s North Shore. With no budget for advertising in the first year, DDMA accumulated contacts and clientele via word-of-mouth.  As our company’s reputation grew, so did its staff.

As retail design assumed a more residential look in the early 1990’s, DDMA’s relationships with its general contractors and architects launched us into the realm of high-end retail. We became widely recognized for the high quality of work and service we provided for our clients’ flagship stores and one-of-a-kind upscale retail venues. As the number of jobs multiplied and the designs became more specialized, we established our design development and detailed drafting departments, in order to help architects and designers manage the various stages of the engineering process. The company also began training its project managers internally and promoting from within. Ten years ago, project manager Dennis Locher became a partner. Today, DDMA’s project management and design development teams allow the company to consistently provide their signature personalized service for each client on every job.

In May 2005, Dan and Dennis teamed up with longtime friend Charlie DeTillio and his associate Gil D’Orazio, to create Amity Wood Industries. The Amity division sought to fill clients’ needs for multiple in-store shop fixtures; allowing us to provide one-stop shopping for our clients. We were now able to oversee all aspects of a given project, including design development, prototypes and project management.

In June 2007, DDMA and Amity Wood Industries moved to their current location at 25 Greene Avenue in Amityville. Our fully renovated and customized office space underscored the company’s commitment to our employees and clients alike by creating an atmosphere that was both professional and creative.

In June 2011, Daniel DeMarco and Associates and Amity Wood Industries merged to become one; with Charlie and Gil becoming partners with Dan and Dennis at DDMA.  As always, we remain staunchly committed to providing superior workmanship and unequalled service to our customers.
